Burma’s Shoot-on-Sight, and Pakistanis Arrested

Burma-missions

While we celebrated Christmas, these reports came in:

Burma/Myanmar

Burma’s military announced they will shoot on sight anyone seen bringing food or supplies to people living in certain Karen State areas. They also imposed a curfew at 6:00 p.m. banning travel between certain villages.

Christian Freedom International’s Bible school just finished mission trips to spread Jesus’ love in this region.

Several students and staff from Christian Freedom International’s school are visiting family and friends in these areas for Christmas.

Please pray for safety.

Pakistani Christian Refugees in Thailand

Around 6:30 a.m. on December 19, Pakistani Christian refugees and children were arrested from their apartments in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 28 included 9 men, 11 women, 6 children under the age of 10 and 2 teenagers.

Immigration Police appear to do intensive checks around neighborhoods at the end of each year.

They will be sent to Immigration Detention Centers (IDC) around Thailand – separating them from family members and communities in Bangkok – while the main IDC in Bangkok is being repaired.

Detainees rely on family and friends like Christian Freedom International to supply basic needs while being held. Long-distances make this extremely difficult.

Please pray for this Christian community, those detained and their families.
