When Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Virginia planned their Missions Week, they invited local ministries, missionaries, and Christian Freedom International to cast a vision. Their theme was Acts 1:8: “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
They also looked for a project that would engage every generation in their church.
“What if children, teens, parents, and grandparents could work together on a project that would help persecuted Christians around the world to share the Gospel?” Pastor Mike Nichols said.
We came up with an idea for an item that we can easily and safely deliver to Christians in distant and hostile places.
On a Saturday morning, pastors and families gathered in their church basement and assembled 800 Gospel bracelets. Each bracelet tells the story of Jesus through colored beads: Black for the darkness of sin. Red for the blood Jesus shed for us. White for Jesus cleansing us white as snow. Green for growing in Christ. Gold for heaven and the eternal home God prepares for His children.
They are an easy way for children to learn and remember the Gospel. In hostile environments where openly carrying Christian materials may attract unwanted attention, the bracelet is discreet. If a family is forced to flee their home and leave everything behind, they can still carry a reminder of God’s grace on their wrist.
The church hand-made 800 Gospel bracelets and Christian Freedom International personally delivered them to persecuted Christians in some of the world’s most difficult places to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Colorful beads on a leather cord that fits on a child’s wrist. Hand-made gifts from a church in America. Delivered to persecuted Christians in hard-to-reach places to spread the Good News. This is how God uses simple things to accomplish eternal purposes.

Over several months, we hand delivered the bracelets to house churches in a Muslim country, child survivors in Nigeria, and children in Pakistan brickyards – countries where the Good News is desperately needed yet following Jesus can carry a high price.
In Nigeria, a caregiver at a home for children who survived Islamist attacks taught a song that explains the beads:
“My heart was dark with sin until the Savior came in.
His precious blood I know has washed it white as snow.
And in His Word I’m told I’ll walk the streets of gold.
I read the Bible and pray to grow in Christ each day.”
What a beautiful picture of God’s Word and promises living in the hearts of little children who have suffered so much.

Around the world, believers face barriers to sharing their faith from extremists, oppressive governments, and cultures hostile to Christianity. Yet the Good News is advancing through His people to reach “to the ends of the earth”.
Thank you for helping Christians to stand firm in God’s eternal love and grace and to share the hope of Christ with others despite persecution.
Would you join us in praying?
Pray that the Gospel will be firmly rooted in the hearts of these children. Pray that those who hear the Gospel through these bracelets will place their faith in Jesus.
Pray for pastors and church leaders to effectively teach and disciple. Pray that Christians living in hostile places will grow in confidence, knowing they belong to Christ.
And pray that believers around the world will remain faithful witnesses “to the ends of the earth.”
