First Hand Witness

Our Board of Directors recently traveled to several of our ministries in Asia.

Seeing CFI’s work in the field was important enough to us as Board members that we traveled half-way around the world to gain firsthand experience. What we witnessed changed us forever.

After teaching on the Good Samaritan at Victory Bible Academy, the class asked me to meet again to talk more. A 15-year-old student was our translator. I later learned that her parents had sent her away because they couldn’t afford her, and Christians had rescued her.

I asked if she had a favorite Bible verse. She quickly said yes and turned to Psalm 50:15. The class read the verse together in their own languages: “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you shall glorify me.”

I came away awed and humbled by the faith of this teenage girl.

I've been on the CFI Board for over twenty years – ever since I decided to see how our donations were helping the persecuted Church and wanting to know how else I could help in places like Bangladesh.

I continue to be overwhelmed by the love and gratitude expressed by those who suffer daily for the name of Christ and have so little materially.

God put it on my heart to pray for people I have never met, far across the world, who face persecution every day. Often, I fall short of doing this with the passion God desires. My trip to CFI’s ministries changed me. Those distant faces are now friends and fellow believers.

Every person we met was grateful and wondered why strangers would bless them. Victory’s students were excited to be there and to meet the people who make it possible. We said, it is not us who make it possible, it is Jesus and people who financially support CFI. Nothing we witnessed would exist without CFI’s donors.
